What’s on This Platinum Jubilee Weekend

As the longest serving British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II will be celebrating 70 years on the throne with a bank holiday weekend, 2-5 June. She’s in for a busy weekend, and to make the most of the (hopefully) sunny four-day weekend, here’s what’s on for Royal enthusiasts in the capital this Jubilee weekend.

Thursday 2nd June

The first day of the bank holiday will see the Queen’s Birthday Parade, which you can apply for tickets for here. Alternatively, the general publiccan watch on the BBC or from St. James Park.

The Parade will be followed by the lighting of the Principal Beacon, which you can find out about here.

Friday 3rd June

On Friday, the Royal Family will attend the Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving at St. Pauls cathedral.
Whilst this is a private event, it’ll be available to watch on the BBC.

Saturday, 4th June

Tickets are still available for the Jubilee Epsom Derby, which the Queen is said to be attending.

You can browse tickets here.

In the evening, the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace will take place with performances from Queen, Alicia Keys and many more. The ballot for tickets is closed but it will be televised on the BBC.

Sunday, 5th June

Whilst many of us will be winding down after a busy weekend, there are lots of events happening on the last day of the Jubilee bank holiday too. Street parties are being organised across the
country, and the Platinum Jubilee Pageant will also be taking place; telling the story of the
Queen’s 70 year reign. The Pageant is open to the general public and will be taking place on The Mall overlooking Buckingham Palace.
