We care about who and how our clothes are produced

We care about who produces your clothes

We take a sustainable approach to womenswear by creating comfortable, beautiful t-shirts and everyday clothing that you’ll wear and love for a very long time.

We have full traceability on all our products. We responsibly source our raw, natural materials and oversee all manufacturing, working closely with our suppliers in the UK and Portugal to produce each piece.

This way, we can ensure positive practices both socially and environmentally, as well as the highest possible quality for you.

We’re in control of the steps that go into making each piece

1. Sourcing the raw material

Our TENCEL™ Modal is grown and produced for us at the Lenzing site in Austria.

2. Knitting the fabrics

Yarns are knitted and dyed to our specifications.

3. Making the garments

The fabric is cut, stitched and finished to our designs.

What is Lyocell?

We use traditional and innovative sustainable fabrics

What comes from the nature can go back to the earth, which is why we love using natural fabrics. From innovative, bio-based TENCEL™Modal to traditional linen you can feel good knowing that our sustainable fabrics are kinder to your skin and kinder to the environment.

Our fabrics are custom-made to our specifications, produced in CO2-neutral environments and we only use environmentally friendly dyes. We carefully produce our fabrics to suit the dye process, so we can guarantee that our shades won’t fade. Wash them according to our care guide and they should stay looking good.

TENCEL™ Modal

Regarded as on of the most forward-thinking fabrics in sustainable fashion, this bio-based material is produced by spinning beech cellulose in a process that uses 10-20 times less water than cotton production.

TENCEL™ Lyocell

Just like modal - lyocell is made from wood cellulose or pulp, its soft-to-the-touch finish, eco credibilities and durability make it a firm favourite with both Lavender Hill and customers.

Linen

Perennially stylish and brilliantly sustainable, linen is grown from flax plants using little water and nearly all of the plant. It is biodegradable and anti-bacterial, wonderfully cooling in summer.

Cotton

We use a number of different types of cotton, most of which are sourced in the US; and all of which is knitted in Austria especially to our specifications. No toxic dyes are used, and all the cotton we use is OEKO-TEX®️ Standard 100 certified.

Scottish Cashmere

Our most indulgent fabric because of its silky soft feeling against the skin, cashmere is a sustainable, renewable and biodegradable natural fibre.

Crafted in Hawick, our makers use traditional methods to gently knit fibres combed from Mongolian and Afgan Goats.

Merino Wool

Merino wool is a completely natural and renewable fibre that comes from Merino sheep (who, once shorn, can grow more and more), so will take about a year to biodegrade.
